Allen Dickerson

Mr. Allen "Big AL" Dickerson, 79, of South Fulton died Monday, May 23, 2016, at Heritage Manor Healthcare Center. Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Jacksonville Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Allen “Big Al” Dickerson, was born March 12, 1937, in Hickman, KY, to the late James Thomas and Esther Allen Dickerson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for twenty-seven years. “Big Al” is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Ann Dickerson of South Fulton, TN; his children, Shelia (Mark) Hayes, Barbara Kerney, Beverly Garmon and Darrin (Gina) Dickerson all of South Fulton, TN and Donald Dickerson of Martin, TN; his siblings, Charles Edward Dickerson of Fulton, KY, Shirley Dickerson of Kankakee, ILL, Mary Helen Davis of Kansas City, MO and Irene Moffet Chicago, ILL; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Allen Dickerson, Jr. and Linda Kay Dickerson; two brothers, Robert Owen Dickerson and James Thomas Dickerson, Jr.; and a sister, Arlene Dickerson.
