Mr. Anson Tremain Couch, 43, of Martin died Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, May 3, 2024, at McCabe United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Anson Tremain Couch was born on January 27, 1981, in Jackson, TN to Georgia Brasfield Bufkin and Jerry Couch.
Anson was a man of tremendous faith with a gentle spirit and infectious smile. He was a faithful member of McCabe United Methodist Church and often lent his multi-ranged voice leading songs with the Spirits of Love and United Methodist Men.
Anson grew up and lived most of his life in Martin and also lived in Atlanta, GA. Anson was a 1999 graduate of Westview High School and furthered his education receiving a Bachelor of Health and Human Performance from The University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Education from Cumberland University.
Anson’s greatest joy in life was his service to others and always found his work rewarding going above and beyond anything asked of him, even when he was not feeling his best. As of Friday April 26th, Anson celebrated his three years of employment with Health Connect America (HCA) as an Intensive Outpatient Facilitator and prior to that was and Employment Placement Specialist with St. John’s Community Services.
Anson served as a 32nd degree Master Mason with Sharon Star Lodge #219 where he was the Junior Warden, a Companion of J.O. Hudson Holy Royal Arch Mason #175, an Illustrious Companion of James E. Poe Royal & Select Masters #11, A Sir Knight of B. L. Hooks Commandery #40 and a Sublime Prince of Dyersburg Consistory #186.
He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Andrew James & Gracie Lee Brasfield and paternal grandparents Edwin H. & Fannie M. Dysart and Willie B. Couch, Sr. one Uncle Currie Brasfield, his stepfather Darnell Bufkin and Father-in-law Earnest M. Cook.
Anson leaves to cherish precious memories, his devoted wife Deanna Cook Couch, sons Cameron, Bentley and Eason Couch, Mother Georgia Bufkin of Martin, TN, his father Jerry Couch of Nashville and one brother David Mason of Memphis, TN. Two Aunts, Brenda Gadlen and Alma (LC) Carter all of Martin, Five Uncles, Freddie (Glandia) Brasfield and Joe Brasfield of Martin, Willie B (Myra) Couch, Jr. of Union City, Calvin Couch of LaVergne, TN and Allen (Janice) Couch of Villa Ridge, Ill, his mother-in-law Tammy Cook, Sister-in-law, Melissa Cook both of Martin and numerous cousins, relatives and close friends.
