Anthony R. Curtis, a respected member of the Hickman and Tiptonville communities, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Hickman, Kentucky. He was born on April 6, 1961, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, and throughout his 65 years, Anthony was known for his steadfast dedication to his family, his work, and his faith.
Anthony was the beloved husband of Carolyn Warren Curtis, with whom he shared 23 meaningful and devoted years of marriage. He was a caring son to his mother, Mary Clark Joe Cheirs, and his late father, William Curtis. Anthony’s familial ties extended to many, and he will be missed by those who survive him, children Shariva Sheilds, Amanda (Phillip) Sanders and Namphyo Warren; siblings, Katrina M. Curtis, Joe (Bernita) Cheirs, Jr., Canitha McCranie, Loretta Curtis, Dee (Juanita) Winters, and his aunt, Glenda Clark.
He is also remembered with fondness by the memories of his brother, Andre Curtis, and uncle, Larry Curtis, who passed before him.
Education played an important role in Anthony’s life. He graduated from Fulton Co. High School in 1979, an achievement which marked the beginning of ongoing personal development. He continued his vocational education at Murray Vocational Training Center, preparing him for a productive career, notably his work with Tyson Foods, where he made lasting contributions as a dedicated employee.
Anthony’s spiritual life was rooted in his membership at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. His active and faithful participation in the church community reflected his principles and commitment to service. Those who prayed, worshipped, and served alongside Anthony at Pleasant Hill will remember him for his steadfast faith and kindness.
The legacy Anthony leaves behind is significant in both the lives he touched and the memories he created. He is remembered as a devoted husband, a loving family member, a faithful friend, and a man who placed value on service, community, and perseverance.
Visitation will be held on June 27, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at West Hickman Baptist Church, located at 2465 7th Street, Hickman, KY 42050. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Anthony are invited to attend and pay their respects to a life well-lived.
Anthony R. Curtis’s presence will be deeply missed, but he will be long remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to those around him.
