Anthony Williams

Mr. Anthony Williams, 69, of Union City died Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel.

Anthony, fondly known as “Sheep” was born June 22, 1954, to the late Alice Mai Williams and the late Richard Byers in Union City, TN.
He was a 1973 graduate of Union City High School where he excelled as a two-sport athlete.  Anthony received All State honors in basketball and was an Honorable Mention All American in track for the high jump. He later attended Paducah Community College and Georgia State.

Anthony was also a long-time employee of Kinkead.  Later in life he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, fishing, and telling old stories.

Anthony leaves behind a son, Brian (Tracy) Williams, and a daughter, Marlena Williams, both of Union City, TN, four grandchildren, Jasmine Williams, Bryanna Williams, Jada Williams, and Jakobe Thompson.  Brothers Clarence (Linda) Williams, William (Joyce) Williams, Freddy Williams, and a sister, Regina Williams, all of Union City, TN, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by three brothers, Terry Williams, Dexter (Mary) Williams, and Walter Williams , and a sister, Lynette Everett .
