Mrs. Beatrice Jones, 75, of McKenzie died Saturday, February 3, 2024, at her home.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church.
She was born to the union of Aaron and Connie Dudley in McKenzie, TN on April 21, 1948. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in her youth and was a dedicated and faithful member of Greater Enon, serving on the Mother’s Board, Women of Purpose Ministry, Sunday School teacher, and supporting the church with her time, talents, and offerings. Her Christ-like spirit radiated dignity love and compassion and was exemplified through her life. She dressed to impress herself and others always noticed. She loved her hats and wore them with style and confidence.
Beatrice attended school in McKenzie and was one of the first African American students to enroll at McKenzie High School during the year 1965-66. After high school, she attended Vocational School. She was a supervisor at H.I.S. Gleason and H.I.S. Bruceton, TN and worked at Nestaway.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Ozell Jones, Sr., and this union lasted 55 years.
Left to cherish her memories, husband Ozell Jones, Sr., daughter Juanita Jones, Son Ozell Jones, Jr., four granddaughters: Briana Moore, Kelstin Reddick, Ja’Lyn Jones, and Janice Jones; two great grandsons: Amar’e Warmack and Tayden Harris; two sisters: Emma Penson and Joyce Teague; a bonus sister/ niece Debbie Williams.; a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, and they loved her.
Her parents and six siblings welcomed her to her heavenly home.
