Mr. Ben Phillip Ray, 64, of Paris died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at his home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Tennessee Valley Community Church (TVCC). Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday at the church. He was born on February 27, 1960, to Marshall Tharpe and Flossy May Ray. Marie Bolden (Grandmother) raised Ben from a tender age upon the passing of his mother. Ben received his education at Henry County High, after graduating from high school Ben enlisted in the NAVY. Ben was employed at Delta Contractor for several years. Ben enjoyed serving the Lord at Tennessee Valley Community Church (TVCC) under Pastor Steven Gallimore and congregation until his health failed. Ben also enjoyed family, fishing, reading the Bible, relaxing at home and watching football. He was proceeded in death by his parents: Marshall Tharpe and Flossy May Ray; grandmother, Marie Bolden; stepfather, James Carl Ray, Sr.; a sister, Vanessa Ray; two brothers, Dennis Ray and Carl Ray. He leaves to cherish his memory wife Robin Renee Ray, three daughters, Rhonda Cherri Ray, La-Recia (Jerry Travis) and Ashley Porter; three sons, Joseph (Amber Aldridge), Demetrius Porter and Shann Porter; a sister, Willene Tharpe; a brother, Eugene Tharpe; Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ben Philip Ray’s story is one of dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
