. Mrs. Betty Mae Payne Mayo Taylor, 80, of Paris died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Henry County Healthcare. Service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Church In Paris (CIP) with Rev. J.C. Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Born June 29, 1933, in Springville, she was a daughter of the late Charlie L. and Mattie Bell Van Dyke Payne. She was a member of Western Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and had worked at several Paris restaurants as a cook. She leaves eight children: Margie Britt and Archiel Mayo Jr., both of Paris, James (Glenda) Mayo of Jackson, Kivian (Sunnah) Taylor of Loganville, Ga., Joyce Ray of San Antonio, Texas, and Cynthia Diane McClure, Gary Mayo and Randall (Gayle) Mayo, all of Chicago; Four siblings: Peggy Searcy, Mattie (Edward) Sullivan, William David (Lady Ester) Payne and Paul (Vernesser) Payne, all of Paris; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
