Betty Marie Pearson

Betty Marie Pearson, formerly known as Betty Somerville, passed away peacefully at her home on December 6, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on November 18, 1958, in Henry County, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of the late Earl Somerville and Christine Whitmore Somerville.

Betty will be remembered fondly for her vibrant spirit and her profound love for her family. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and creating lasting memories, always ensuring that joy and laughter accompanied their gatherings.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Leroy Pearson. She is also survived by her children: Brenda (Anthony) Jamison of Milan, TN; Jessie Tharpe of Memphis, TN; and Joe Olive, Marcus Olive, and Antonio Somerville, all residents of Paris, TN. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind her siblings: Minnie Wilkins, Margaret Somerville, Hattie Porter, and Don Somerville, all of Paris, TN. She was a beloved matriarch who delighted in her host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Sally Curtis, Castine Foster, Edna Guthrie, and James and Dan Somerville, who, along with her parents, now welcome her in eternal peace.

A visitation will be held in her honor at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home in Paris, TN, on December 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Following the visitation, a service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, where she will be interred at 3:00 PM.

Betty Marie Pearson's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.
