Billy Mackins

Mr. Billy Mackins of Union City died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at his residence. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Rev. A.E. McCadney officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. He was born July 16, 1940, in Union City, son of late Virgie Lee Mackins Storey and Dawson “Bama” Gordon. He was a retired truck driver and a 1959 graduate of the former Miles High School. He spent his younger years at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Melba (McFall) Mackins; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy and Carla Mackins and Erico Mackins; four daughters, Kim Mackins, Lori Blair, Vikki Mackins and Tia Mackins; nine grandchildren and the spouse of one, Kimiko and Vaughan Doniphan, Natasha Mackins, Billy Lavell, Ashley Mackins, Tatiana Mackins-Burton, Jordan Mackins, Nadia Mackins, Kobe Mackins and Natalia Mackins; three great-grandchildren, Ramiyah Kerney, Navaiah Hamilton and Vaughn Doniphan; his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Johnnie Mackins; and his sister, Phyllis Anderson.
