Cara Kinney

November 4, 1955 — July 30, 2020

Mrs. Cara Kinney, 64, of Hickman died Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020, from noon until 1 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Cara was born on November 4, 1955 in Hickman KY to the late Mrs. Celeste Elizabeth Dumas & Mr. Clifford Warren, Sr. She received her early education from Riverview, Hickman Elementary Schools and was a 1975 graduate of Fulton County High School. She had been employed at HIS Manufacturing, So. Fulton TN, Superior Fire, Union City TN, and the Fulton County Detention Center until her health no longer allowed her to work.

Cara accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of Johnson Chapel MB Church as an usher, choir member, and her favorite, chairperson of the Annual Mother's Day Program until she could no longer serve.

Cara was preceded in death by not only her parents but also her maternal grandparents, Mr. Oscar, Sr. & Mrs. Celeste (Wheatley) Dumas; paternal grandparents, Mr. Owen & Mrs. Florene (Willoughby-John) Warren, her step-mother, Mrs. Mattie Bell (Udley) Warren, many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

To cherish Cara's fondest memories are her husband, Bro. Gary Wayne Kinney of whom she was devoted until her illness; her two beloved children: Ms. Carla Cole and Mr. Samuel (Terika) Cole, Jr.; five grandchildren-Christopher Smith, Jr. Joshua Cole, J'Shon Jones, Samyjah & Teghan Cole; and one great-granddaughter, Kazelyn Cole. She was also loved by seven sisters: Mrs. Joyce (Ray) Smith, Mrs. Florence (Richard) Johnson, Ms. Debra Fitts, Mrs. Jacqueline Robinson, Ms. Marcella Smith, Mrs. Monica (Walter) Edmond, and Ms. Teresa Freeman; four brothers: Mr. Clifford (Charlesetta) Warren, Jr., Mr. Ronnie (Mona) Fitts, Mr. Elmer Ray Caldwell, and Mr. Duane Smith; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; a special friend, Mr. Maurice Thorpe; and one loving god daughter, Annesha Jackson.
