Carla Brooks

Carla Brooks, a beloved figure remembered for her kindness and infectious laughter, passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 67, in Union City, TN. Born on June 3, 1958, in Arlington, KY, she grew up with a deep sense of family and community that defined her life.

A proud graduate of Hickman Co. High School in Clinton, KY, Carla worked at Tyson Foods, retiring in 2009. She was known for her warm spirit and genuine care for those around her. Friends and family will always cherish her beautiful smile and the joy it brought to any gathering.

Carla was a devoted member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Oakton, KY, where her contributions were felt by all who attended. Her selflessness and nurturing nature made her an exemplary wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed a loving marriage for over 30 years to her late husband, Davis "Paintman" Brooks, Sr.

Carla is survived by her daughters, LaDonna Brooks and Alexandria (Jeremy) Bonds; her sister, Deadra (Derrick) Fitts; her brother, Allen (Sylvia) McKinney; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Davis "Paintman" Brooks, Sr.; her son, Davis "Peanut" Brooks, Jr.; her parents, Lee and Veatrice Scott; and her brothers, Wendell T. Scott, Roger "Snake" Scott, Anthony T. Scott, John W. Scott, and Dennis Scott, along with her sister, Carnice Cunningham.

A visitation will be held on August 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home, located at 1325 E Main St, Union City, TN 38261.

Carla Brooks leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her. Her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, forever cherished and celebrated.
