Mrs. Carla Michelle Ray, 40, of Paris died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Henry County Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011, at Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Andre Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born July 15, 1971, in Corrigan, Texas, she was the daughter of Joe Walker Sr. of Corrigan and Teresa Tharpe of Paris. Ray was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church and had worked for 10 years at HCMC until her health failed. Her husband, Eddie G. Ray, survives. She also leaves one son: Shaquille McQueen of Corrigan; one daughter: Terri Ann Ray of Paris; two local brothers: Adrian and Cedric Tharpe, both of Paris; one local sister: Jacquita Tharpe of Paris; 11 other brothers and sisters, who live in Texas; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Robert L. and Sadie Tharpe; paternal grandparents: Ima and Creola Walker Jackson; and a sister: Katrice Walker.
