Charles Alley

Mr. Charles Alley, 90, of Dresden died Friday, October 15, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at St. James Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church.

Charles Herod Alley was born on July 6, 1932, to Mary Ruth and Rev. Herod Alley. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church, where he served as an elder.

He served in the United States Army and worked at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant for most of his life. Charles was an outstanding member of the community and always did whatever he could to help those in need. He was a baseball and softball coach. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing and working in his garden.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Shirley Alley. Together they had eight children; Victor, Charlene, Kim, Steven, Dennis, Denise, Charles Jr. and Hope; fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews.

His greatest legacy was his love for his family, and he will be dearly missed.
