Mr. Charles “Chuck” Maberry, 69, of Union City died Friday, February 19, 2016, at Martin Healthcare. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Greater Bethel Church of God In Christ with Elder Richard Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the church. Charles Earl Maberry was born in Rives, Tennessee on April 1, 1946, to the late Booker T. Mayberry and the late Sursie “Teenie” Mayberry. In 1964, he graduated from Miles High School and later enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was awarded numerous times for his excellence in engineering and mechanic work. He also continued to educate himself, earning an Industrial Engineering Certificate from Dyersburg State Community College. After his honorable discharge, he wedded Linda Johnson Maberry in the year of 1971. In 1973, he began his working career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and worked faithfully until his retirement. While working as head mechanic in the truck shop, he continued to serve in the Army National Guard, traveling to various countries. He was a member of the American Legion Post 108. He was preceded in death by his brother, Elder Terry Evans Mayberry, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his faithful and devoted wife, Linda Johnson Maberry; two daughters, Tarsha (Marlon) Haynes and LaTorya (Roderick) White; two sisters, Gladys (S. J.) Burnett and Betty (Louis) Brack and two grandchildren, Alexa and Taylor Haynes. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers and loving friends.
