Mr. Charles Liphford, 80, of Fulton died Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the funeral home.He was born on March 2, 1937, to the late Catherline Wedley and Sammy Lipford in Humboldt, Tennessee. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was married to the former Jessie Blackwell for 50 years. To this union four children were born. Charles was employed as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, working and spending time with family. Later in life he found joy going and sitting in the park everyday. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jewell Laford, Martha Lipford and JoAnn Hester. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Liphford of Union City, TN; his children, Carl Blackwell of Clarksvville, TN, Lesia (Ray) Smith of Union City, Charles Liphford of Union City and Sam (Phyllis) Liphford of Dyersburg; a host of grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Graham and Doris Liphford both of Detroit, MI; brothers, Sam Lipford of Detroit, MI, Ronnie Lipford of TX, Spike Welch Munice, IN and Arthur Marble of Jackson, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
