Mr. Charles Mackins, 83, of Hickman died Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Clinton Place.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday 23, 2023, at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Charles Edward Mackins was born April 4, 1940, to the late Lucy Yates Mackins and Robert Mackins in Union City, Tennessee.
He had been a farmer since he was a little boy farming with his dad. He retired from being a farmer at the age of 76.
He leaves to cherish his memories his eight children: two daughters, Carol Mackins of Hickman, KY, Florenda Abbott of Clinton, KY, six sons, Edward Kinney, Robert Mackins, John Mackins all of Hickman, KY, Charles Mackins, Jr., Brian Jones both of Clinton KY, and Charles Ray Perry of Wisconsin. Two brothers; Alvin Mackins of Hickman, KY, Michael “Skeeter” Mackins of Ohio, ten grandchildren; Ann Woodson of Fulton, KY, Mikiyah Mitchell, Jykeilan Montgomery of Hickman, KY, Marquel Houston of Murray, KY, Charles Mackins II of Clinton, KY, Brandon Perry, Brittney Perry, Tia Perry, Charlee Perry, Nicole Perry all of Indiana, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Mackins, father, Robert Mackins, son, David Mackins, sisters, Lucille Mackins, Betty Mackins, and Thelma Mackins, brothers, Melvin Mackins, Tommy Mackins, Herman Mackins, and his wife, Marine Mackins.
