Mr. Chester Curtis Wilson, 67, of Paris died Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Homegoing Celebration will be held on at noon on May 16, 2026, at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
He was born on September 29, 1958, to Mary Louise Wilson and the late R. L. Wilson.
He was educated in the Henry County School System, where he built the foundation for the hardworking and dedicated life he would lead.
At an early age, Chester gave his life to Christ, a faith that remained an important foundation throughout his life. He was a devoted member of The Church in Paris (CIP), where he found spiritual guidance, fellowship, and community.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished family man whose strength, kindness, and dedication touched many lives.
He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Yolanda McWherter Wilson, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage that began in Nassau, Bahamas. Together, Chester and Yolanda built a life filled with love, adventure, and unforgettable memories. They especially cherished traveling throughout the Caribbean islands and countries several times a year, creating special moments together that reflected their deep bond and shared joy for life.
He is also survived by his daughters, Dewana Moore, Beonca Fitzgerald, and Mikayla Gill; his son, Caleb Gill; and his cherished grandchildren, Keshun Love, Deja Long, Creshun Braden, Kent Braden Jr., and Skyy Austin, along with eight great-grand-children who brought him immense happiness.
Chester is survived by his loving mother, Mary Louise Wilson; his siblings, Ricky (Kristy) Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Mike Wilson, Peggy Porter, Rogerline (Gerald) Long, Linda Puckett, and Lisa Wilson; his aunt, Lula Milliken; his mother-in-law, Barbara Bufford; and his father-in-law, Weldon McWherter.
He was preceded in death by his father, R. L. Wilson.
A hardworking and dedicated provider, Chester spent 22 years at Dana Corporation before retiring from Pella Windows. His strong work ethic and commitment to his family were evident throughout his life.
Chester will be remembered for his unwavering faith, deep love for his family, adventurous spirit, and the treasured memories he created with those he loved most. His legacy of love, strength, devotion, and faith in Christ will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
