Mr. Cleantrice Lewis Willoughby, 72, of Chicago formerly of Martin died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at University of Chicago Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
He was born April 10, 1940, in Weakley County, Martin, Tennessee. He was the youngest of fourteen children born to the late Rev. Anthony E. and Viola Willoughby.
He was educated and graduated from Weakley County Training School of Martin in 1959. He joined and became an active member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Cleantrice worked at the T-Room Restaurant from 1958 to 1963, after which he relocated to Chicago, Illinois to pursue a career as a master butcher at Yates Meat Market.
His sisters, Virginia Williams, Helen Randle, Rev. Ollie B. Wynne and Velma Brooks and brothers, A. D., Daniel, James, Bobby, Thomas, Isaiah and Baby Boy, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Peggy Willoughby; one daughter, Sophia Willoughby; one son, Cleantrice L. Willoughby, Jr.; grandchildren, Breonna and Ambriel of St. Louis, Missouri, Trell of Chicago, Illinois and Jaylin of Mississippi; one brother, Rev. William (Nell) Willoughby; one sister, Gwenetta (Robert) Smith; special friend, Ruby Strong; adopted children, Chimonne and Kasi Strong of Chicago, Illinois and Troy Strong of Indiana and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
