Cordia "Penny" Freeman

Mrs. Cordia M. "Penny" Freeman, 96, of Paris died Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Henry County Healthcare.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, in McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born on September 5, 1927, in Henry County to the late Billy Howard and Cordia Gray Howard. She was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church until its closure in 2020. Attended Central High School, former employee of Holly Carburetor, member of Henry Co. Medical Center Auxiliary, Paris Lioness Club, Friendly Sisters, a volunteer at Henry County Food Bank and Central Alumni Association.

She was married to the late Earl Freeman on February 14, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1981.

She is survived by her daughter, Sabra (Terry) Fuller; her grandchildren, Shekia "Kitty" (Timmy) Allen, TeAndrea "Nikki" (Cliff) Stevick, Andrea Fuller, Mikela Freeman, Chelsea Arnold, Brian Johnson, Deidre Freeman, Dylan Johnson and Jasmin Freeman; a sister, Jacqueline "Tenny" Tharpe and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sons Ronald and Donald Freeman; brothers, Billy Howard and Robert Howard, sisters; Lillian Corrine Howard, Jean Palmer and Remonia Tharpe and a grandson, Miquel Cowan.
