Mrs. Cynthia Ann Lloyd, 58, of Martin died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Cynthia Ann Lloyd, born on April 6, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, to Alona Conner and the late Melvin Lloyd Sr. She was the second oldest of four children. Cynthia was a diligent academic and exceptional athlete while attending Simeon Vocational High School, graduating in 1983. She continued her education at Chicago State University, earning her Bachelor of Accounting in 1988.

In the Fall of 1984, Cynthia gave her life to Christ and became a member of The Church of God at 4601 S. Drexel, Chicago, IL. It was there that she met and later married Davell Lloyd Sr. on February 16, 1990. Their holy union brought forth four beloved children: Davell Jr., Jacob Devon, Rachel LaJewel, and Theresa Joy.

In 1992, Cynthia and Davell answered God's call to minister in Sharon, Tennessee, leading to the chartering of The Church of God in Sharon in 1994. While raising her young family and supporting the newly founded congregation, Cynthia continued to pursue her professional goals. In 1995, she founded Lloyd's Bookkeeping and Tax Service, Weakley County's first black, women-owned financial establishments. Cynthia's pursuit of excellence led her to obtain a Master of Accounting from The University of Phoenix in 2011.

For the proceeding years, Cynthia dedicated her life to her children, congregation, community, and to God.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father Melvin Lloyd Sr. and younger sister Karen Lloyd.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Davell Sr.; two sons, Davell Jr. and Jacob; two daughters, Rachel and Theresa; her mother, Alona Conner; one sister, Alice Allen; one brother, Melvin Lloyd Jr., and a host of nephews, nieces, beloved friends, and the saints of God.
