Mr. David Johnson, 60, of Paris died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at his residence.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday at Rawls Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
David Lee Johnson, Sr., was born in Indianola, Mississippi,
to the late Dallas Johnson and Frances Harris Johnson of
Chicago, Illinois, on December 28, 1951.
David accepted Christ at an early age and worshiped at the
Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Puryear,
Tennessee, under the leadership of the former pastor, the
late Rev. A. Taylor and the present pastor, Rev. T. Taylor.
David attended school in Chicago, Illinois. He worked at
Dana Rubber Company in Henry County until his health
failed him.
David leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife,
Beverly Faye Johnson of Paris, Tennessee; three children,
Shantice (Tarrell) Sanders of Paris, Tennessee, David
(Tina) Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and April
Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and six grandchildren,
Mekhi Sanders and Lander Sanders, both of Paris,
Tennessee and Anesha Palmer, Jonathan Johnson, Charrise
Johnson and Alyassa Wilson, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was one of eighteen children, brothers, Johnny B.
Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Earl Johnson of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dallas Johnson, Jr. of Chicago,
Illinois, Joseph Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Rev. Isaiah
Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kenneth Johnson of
Chicago, Illinois, Scott Johnson of Charleston, Illinois and
Charles Johnson, Curtis Johnson and Terry Johnson, all of
Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Henrietta Johnson of Chicago,
Illinois, Ruth Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, Deanna
Johnson of Springfield, Illinois, Sarah Johnson of
Springfield, Illinois, Walter Moris of Chicago, Illinois, Rose
Marie Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Ann Mira of Chicago,
Illinois and Martha Johnson of Charleston, Illinois. He also
leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-
law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
