Eddie Polk

Mr. David Eddie Polk, 78, of Fulton died Friday, August 7, 2026, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Brooks Chapel Kingdom Harvest Church. Interment will follow in Greenlea Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

David Eddie Polk, affectionately known as Eddie, was born on December 1, 1947, to the late Gladys Richardson and Lee Wilson Polk. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Polk; his parents; and one brother, Terry Morrow.

Eddie’s life was a blessing to his family and to those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the family and friends who loved him dearly.

Eddie leaves to cherish his precious memories his children: Jeff Polk of Oregon; David Polk of Union City, Tennessee; Annette Trice (Eric) of Jackson, Tennessee; Rhonda Rachel Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana; Ryan Marlow Todd (Mary Jane) of Detroit, Michigan; Frederick Walls of Chicago, Illinois; Shannon Stunson of South Fulton, Tennessee; Derek Dickerson of California; Emmanuel Pettigrew (Christy) of Fulton, Kentucky; and Chris Pettigrew; and his goddaughter, Rea Jones (Anthony “AJ”) of Fulton, Kentucky.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Alice F. Williams and Ruby Mae Morrow, both of Junction City, Kansas, and Clara Mae Polk of Hickman, Kentucky; Willie Gardner (Maria) of Junction City, Kansas; Donald Wilson and George Wilson, both of Hickman, Kentucky; and Ruben Duke of Fulton, Kentucky.

Eddie’s legacy continues through his 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory with them for generations to come.

He also leaves his aunt, Cora Lee Williamson (Charley); five sisters-in-law, Laquita Slayton, Peggy Bransford, Patricia Rose, Betsy Cawthorn, and Felicia Lightner of South Fulton, Tennessee; a special friend, Courtney Horton; and a host of other relatives, loved ones, and friends.

Though Eddie has departed from this earthly life, the love, memories, and legacy he leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life will be remembered, his presence will be missed, and his memory will forever be cherished.
