Donny "Mickey" Joe Robinson, Sr.

Mr. Donny "Mickey" Joe Robinson, Sr. 65, of Spartanburg, SC formerly of Union City died Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Rawls Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held later.

He was born July 23, 1954 in Chicago IL, he was the son of Preston Robinson, Jr. and Martha Cook Robinson. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. “Mickey” worked for the Kohler Company in Union City, TN, and Spartanburg, SC for over 45 years. Mickey served as a city councilman for 11 ½ years in Union City, TN and as a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda, Spartanburg, SC, his children, Kartina Butler, (Kevin) of Murfreesboro, TN, Donny Robinson, Jr.,(Kristy), of Union City, TN, Bradley Robinson, of Knoxville, TN, Desirae Caldwell, Union City, TN, Diondria Lovan, Charleston, SC, a stepson, Brice Lovan (Matisha) of Norfolk, VA, 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Siblings include, Edward Neal Robinson “Tim” Benton Harbor, MI, James Roberson, Union City, TN, and Joyce Williams (Willie) Union City, TN, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Preston Robinson, Jr., and Martha Cook Robinson, 2 sisters, Dorothy Kellie and Mary Virgina LaRue, and 3 brothers, Ivory, Preston, and Ray Robinson .
