Mrs. Ealer Alverta Bass, 70, of Union City died Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. A. E. McCadney officiating. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.Visitation will begin at noon on Monday at the church.Mrs. Ealer Alverta Bass was born December 18, 1942, in Union City, Tennessee to the late Joe Nathan Clark andErnestine (Fitzpatrick) Clark. She was a graduate of Miles High School, a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church where she was a choir member and taught a kindergarten class. She was formerly employed with Brown Shoe Company, Beverly Healthcare and Attorney Tom Elam. She was also employed with Rawls Funeral Home.
She was married to the late Joe Knox Bass May 6, 1962.
She is survived by a daughter, Shelia Bass of Union City, TN; a step daughter, Karen Murphy of Atlanta, GA; two step sons, Joe Williams of Detroit, MI and Kim Simpson of Kenton, TN; a sister, Blossie Clark of Union City, TN; nine aunts, Minnie Holder of St. Louis, MO, Brenda Smith and Jeanette Clark both of Nashville, TN, Janice Williams of Trenton, TN, Rosetta (Alvin) Hardwick of Madison, AL, Florence (Duncan) Kaufmann and Roberta Jones both of Ann Arbor, MI, Brenda (Arthur) Graham of Ypsilanti, MI and Maryline Kane of Peoria, IL; two uncles, Jerome Fitzpatrick of Gary, IN and Willie Fitzpatrick of Jacksonville, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is also preceded in death by her son, Knox Eric Bass and her brother, Anthony Clark.
