Mrs. Earnestine Emerson, 83, of Mayfield died Monday, March 14, 2022, at her home.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Brown Chapel AME Church in Union City. Interment will follow in Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Mayfield.
Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church.
Earnestine Emerson was born Earnestine Curry on January 27, 1939, to Annie Lee Curry (Jefferies) and George Doaks in Gibson County, Tennessee.
She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and worked faithfully in the church using all of her talents that God blessed her with to do His work.
Mrs. Earnestine worked as a sewing machine operator for Curlee and Merit Clothing company, a cashier at Kroger, a Mary Kay representative and an Avon Lady. She also did private sewing for many people. She volunteered during Heart association month to go door to door for heart disease and as well as the diabetes association. But what mostly comes to your mind is her delicious cake, pies, rolls that she made. She absolutely loved to cook.
To keep her love for God, her family, and others, and to pass on legacy to her two daughters, Lori Mayberry (Terry), Lisa Jones. Two Grandsons Quintint Jones and Darrin Dickerson II, two granddaughters Ciara Alderson (Phillip) Ericka Mayberry, eight great grandchildren and a special nephew Ralph Kirby. Her sisters Ruth Ester Baugh (Roosevelt), Shirley Hill (Bobby), Mary Yvonne Champion (Eddie). Brother Larry Doaks (Fran) many nieces and nephew and host of cousins and friend
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband William (Billy) and sister Leora Kirby.
