Edna King

Mrs. Edna King, 81, of Union City died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Van Ayer Healthcare & Rehab Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, at Vine Street Church of Christ with Graham McGill officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at the church. Edna Zoralee King was born September 19, 1934, in Gibson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Clarence and Alpha Mae Scates. Edna attended the Gibson County School System. Edna confessed her love for Christ in 2002, and became a faithful member of the Church of Christ until she became ill. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Lee King; her parents, Clarence and Alpha Mae Scates; a brother, Clifton Scates and two sister, Lorraine Scates and Ruth Scates. She leaves to cherish her memories her seven children, Larry King (Joyce) of South Bend, Indiana, Kenny King (Cheryl) of Union City, Tennessee, Terry King (Denise) of Martin, Tennessee, Stafford King (Ann) of South Fulton, Tennessee, Pamela King (Willie) of Union City, Tennessee, Penny King-Moore (Craig) of Columbia, South Carolina and Estes “Bubba” King of Union City, Tennessee; twenty-eight grandchildren; thirty eight great-grandchildren; five-great-great grandchildren; seven sisters, Alpha Lean Randall (Roy) of Bradford, Tennessee, Annetta Smith (James) of Rutherford, Tennessee, Sylvia Arnold of Bradford, Tennessee, Alice Johnson (Freddie) of Union City, Tennessee, Gwen Turner (Joe Lee) of Bradford, Tennessee, Diane Brown (JB) of Bradford, Tennessee and Carol Thomas of Bradford, Tennessee; a brother, Clarence Scates (Louise) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
