In Loving Memory of Eric R. Courtney who left this world too soon. Eric loved life to the fullest. He never complained about anything he always had a smile on his face. He was not a stranger to anyone. Everyone loved him, especially his personality.  His favorite line "You can kick rocks with open-toe shoes" He loved spending time with his family. He loved spending time with his teammates and traveling to different states for competitions.  (Travel softball team).

Eric started playing HSL ball in 2008 with the Avengers (later became the Rampage. Eric actually played on various HSL teams over his years in the league play; among them, Showstoppers, Menace, and Primetime through 2021. He also represented Atlanta in many World Series 2021 with his own Atlanta teams and also "pick up” roles for other member city teams.

Eric was known, on the field and in the dugout, to be a strong competitor and a passionate player He will be greatly missed by anyone who ever had contact or conversation with him.

Our Dearest Eric, The first thing that comes to mind is that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. For this alone, we will always honor your memory. Friend, mentor, coach, counselor, and motivator; you wore all of these hats! You took your love of softball, friendship, and family and used this to instill a light in your softball community that will forever shine bright. You made sure that all of us knew that winning and losing meant nothing if we didn’t love the game. You ensured that we knew that as long as we left it all on the field, we’d given the game our best. Off of the field, you made sure that we felt loved and supported! We all knew that you would always have a hug and that big smile of yours waiting for us. You will forever be a legend and we will always play this game for you and in honor of what you mean to us! Our coaches will hear your voice whispering encouragement in their ears. Our infielders will hear your voice whispering motivation in their ears and because of who you are; there truly are angels in the outfield now. Thank you for just being you! We love you and your spirit will never die! (Soft Ball Team)
