Mrs. Ernestine Jackson, Alexandria, VA formerly of Fulton died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Mercer, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
She was born March 9, 1920, in Bolivar, TN to the late Algin Jarrett and Mattie Bell Spinks. She was married to Robert Lee Jackson in 1937.
She was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a mother of the church. She later joined Bethlehem Baptist Church after she relocated to Alexandria. She was also a housekeeper and a past Eastern Star member.
She is survived by her children, Kim Jackson, Anna Frances Davis, and Sherri Stevens all of Alexandria, VA, Lorraine Pruitt and Maurice (Barbara) Jackson of Woodbridge, VA; godson Barry Sermon of Alexandria, VA; four sisters, Ethel Mae Woods and Sonia Jarrett both of St. Louis, MO, Clara Hurd of Rochester, NY, and Delores Harris of Springfield, IL; six brothers, Eugene (Arnita) Rainer and Luther Rainer both of Rockford, IL, David Jarrett of Houston, TX, Algin Jarrett, Jr. of Fairview Heights, IL, Michael Jarrett of Jalisco, MX and Ernest Jarrett of Bolivar, TN; ten grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter; Mary Lene Blythe, three sons; Joseph Jackson, Donald Harold “Sonny” Jackson and Derek Jackson, a sister and a brother.
