G. E. "Jackie" Haynes

Mr. G.E. "Jackie" Haynes, 87, of Henry died Thursday, July 16, 2026, at The Waters of McKenzie.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, in McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel.

G. E. Haynes “Jackie” Haynes was born December 6, 1938, to Mrs. Jewell Haynes Cates, his mother, in Henry, Tennessee. Jackie grew up in Henry. He went to Caton Elementary School in Henry. He graduated from Central High School in Paris, Tennessee in 1956. Jackie enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958.

Jackie moved back to Henry after his tour of duty with the Air Force and met the love of his life. He married Ella Louise Sneed on June 12, 1966. Jackie confessed and repented of his sins and gave his life to the Lord and joined Coles Chapel Christian Methodist Church.

Jackie’s favorite baseball team was the former Brooklyn Dodgers, now the Los Angeles Dodgers, his reason, he was named after the late Jackie Robinson. The Los Angeles Lakers was his favorite basketball team. He also was an animal lover, especially dogs.

Jackie was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Haynes Cates, his three sisters, Cleo Webb, Juanita Banks, and Shirley Rowe, two nephews Edd Dudley, Jr. and George Dudley.

Jackie leaves to Christ his memory: His wife, Ella Louise Haynes of Henry, one son, Kevin Haynes, Henry and two daughters: Jacqueline Haynes, Augusta, GA and Ashley Haynes, Henry, a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
