Gene Dunlap

Mr. Elmer Gene Dunlap, 72, of Paris died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Henry County Healthcare Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the church. He was born December 9, 1942, in Puryear to the late Johnny Bell and Johnnie Mae Tharpe Dunlap. He was married to Jean H. Dunlap, who preceded him in death on July 7, 2004. He was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.  He is survived by three children: Jeffrey (Melissha) Dunlap, Rhonda Smith, and Monique (Arthur) Gray; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lois (Wayne) Crump, Dimple Pratt, and Sammie Joe Robertson; a brother: Dudley “Bill” Dunlap; an uncle: Granville Tharpe; and several nieces and nephews.
