George Perkins Roberson

Mr. George Perkins Roberson, 90, of Union City formerly of Hickman died Monday, November 19, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. He was born November 18, 1922, in Hickman, KY to the late Elliot and Lula (Giles) Roberson. He attended Riverview High School and retired from Solo Cup Company in Chicago. He was a member of Bray Temple C.M.E. Church where he served as a Steward for 50 years and as an usher for 45years. He is preceded in death by two wives; Iola Taylor Roberson and Annie Roberson and a sister Blanche Roberson. He is survived by a daughter, Helen (Charles) Harvey; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Williams; two grandchildren, Alyssa Harvey and Christopher (Felicia) Harvey; three step grandchildren and two great grandchildren, La’Kia Harvey and Alisha Harvey; two nieces, Juanita Holmes and Olivia Reddick; a nephew James Taylor and special friends, Hazel and James McConnico and Helen Barney.
