Mrs. Georgia Louise Davis, 63, of Union City died Friday, February 11, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Anointed Church of the Living God, with the Rev. John M. Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be James Simpson, Mike Simpson, Jewell Simpson, J.D. Simpson, Davies Arnold Jr. and Jontez Dennis. She was born February 17, 1947, in Union City, daughter of the late Louise (Haynes) Arnold and of A.G. Davies Arnold Sr. of Cobden, Ill. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Union City and had attended the former Miles High School in Union City. She had been employed at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, Mich., before returning to this area. She is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Jonathan Turner and Mary and D.C. Cox, all of Union City, and Amy and Jay Reed of Dyersburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Lisa Simpson of Niles, James and Anne Simpson of Dowagiac, Mich., and Jewell and Janice Simpson of Dyersburg; her stepmother, Betty C. Arnold of Cobden; 10 sisters and six brothers-in-law, Sheila and Jessie Davis of Murphysboro, Ill., Gladys and Ned Slaughter of Buchanan, Mich., Tonya and Josh Coleman of Cobden, Frances Noonan of Clinton, Ky., Sandra and Will Bollanger of Carbondale, Ill., Roberta Haynes of Milwaukee, Adell and Jason Fuller, Lisa and Robert Hill and Tina Arnold, all of Anna, Ill., and Lena Haynes of Elkhart, Ind.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joseph Arnold of Cobden, Lee and Donna Haynes of South Bend, Ind., and Davies Arnold Jr. and Shavone Arnold of Anna; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
