Mrs. Glenda Ann Garmon, 73, of Fulton died Friday, February 24, 2017, at Continue Care Hospital at Baptist Health Paducah. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Johnson and Rev. Leroy Brent Officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlea Cemetery.Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Rawls Funeral Home. Glenda Ann Thomas Garmon was born on March 8, 1942 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Evelyn McManus and William Thomas. Glenda received her education at Milton Elementary School and Fulton High School. As a young woman, Glenda professed faith in God and joined Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. In 1993, desiring to worship with her family, Glenda united with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Glenda Ann worked as a domestic employee for various families in Fulton and South Fulton. Additionally, she served as a long-time care-giver for her grandmother, Erin Blythe. No doubt, Glenda will be remembered by many residents in Fulton for her exceptional culinary skills. She especially had a passion for baking. Often she could be found baking beautiful, delicious cakes and pies or cooking for others in the community. Glenda leaves to cherish her memories four siblings: Sam (Carolyn) McManus of Kevil, KY, Lincoln McManus, Jr. of Fulton, KY, Evelyn (Darryl) Van Leer of Madison, TN, her special sister and care-giver: Janice Couch of Fulton, KY, a special family friend: Nancy Forrester of Fulton, KY, 13 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby G. Garmon, a special friend: Fred Jones, brother: Robert Craig Hayes, sister: Dorothy McManus Ivory, her mother Evelyn McManus, who had a special love for her “first born,” and her step-father: Lincoln McManus.
