He was born to Mr. Baby Ruth Jones and Mrs. Gertrude Neely Jones on May 17, 1945. Grady (affectionally known as Big Boy) graduated from Merry High School in 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country from 1967 to 1969.

He was united in holy matrimony to Miss Frankie Adkisson on October 26, 1969. To this union, three sons were born. Grady was a loving husband and father who supported his children in all their endeavors. Big Boy professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Home Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Timothy Grimes in Jackson, Tennessee. After his marriage, he united with Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Trezevant, Tennessee. He served in various capacities at Mt. Ararat: member of male chorus, gospel choir, fellowship choir, deacon, treasurer, caretaker of Family Life Center, and parking superintendent. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father Baby Ruth Jones and five siblings: Hattie Mae, Frank, Eddie Ruth, Babe, and Francis.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 50 years, Frankie Jones of Atwood, TN; three sons: Grady Lamont (Nichole) of Nashville, TN, Eric (Trissie) of Lavergne, TN, and Marcus of Antioch, TN; mother Mrs. Gertrude Neely Jones, two brothers: twin, Brady (Mary) Jones of Grand Rapids, MI and Larry Jones of Jackson, TN; two sisters: Beatrice Hillard and Deborah (“HT” Tommy) Harrell both of Jackson, TN; seven grandchildren: Nathaniel, Nicholas, Christian, Taylen, Darius, Gavin, Joshua, and Tylie; a special person: Michelle Colquitt; six brothersin-law: Charles Collins, Erie Hillard, Chester Adkisson, Casey Adkisson, Richard Adkisson, and Michael Dalton; six sisters-in-law: Rose Jones, Linda Adkisson, Ann Adkisson, Marilyn Adkisson, Geneva Melton, and Shelia Adkisson; an adopted grandchild: Jasmine Dalton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
