Harold David Hensley

Mr. Harold D. Hensley, 80, of Union City died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Obion County Nursing Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Visions Community Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Harold David Hensley was born in South Fulton, Tennessee on October 5, 1936, to Lillian Stunson and David Hensley. Harold was baptized at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Harold graduated from Miles High School in Union City, Tennessee in 1957. Harold married Winona Caldwell in 1958. To this union, Harold Dwayne Hensley and Eric Wayne Hensley were born. Harold worked as a maintenance supervisor for the St. Louis Housing Authority in St. Louis, Missouri. He later relocated to Union City, Tennessee and started Hensley’s Plumbing Service in 1974, which he operated for forty years. Also, Harold owned and operated the VIP Social Club for many years. Harold loved all sports. He especially loved basketball in which he excelled in himself at Miles High School. He was preceded in death by his father, David Hensley; his mother, Lillian Hensley; son, Eric Wayne Hensley and godson, Sherman Gaston. He is survived by his son, Harold Dwayne Hensley (Yulanda) and a daughter Dawn “Dee” Partee of Brownsville, Tennessee; a sister, Mary Ruth Hopkins of Denver Colorado; a brother, Robert Hensley of St. Louis, Missouri; foster brother, Bennett Chambers of Paducah, Kentucky; foster sister, Janet Chambers of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Eric Dwayne Hensley (Porsha) of Nashville, Tennessee, Harold D’Andrae Hensley of Union City, Tennessee, Whitney Marie Hensley of South Fulton, Tennessee and D’Kendria Partee of Hayti, Missouri; one uncle, Billy Hensley of Paducah, Kentucky; seven great grandchildren; two goddaughters, Clarissia McGee of Nashville, Tennessee and Denise Gill (Tyrone) of Greenfield, Tennessee; two godsons, Lendall Gaston and Clarence Gaston of Hickman, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.
