Mr. Harold “Huckabuck” Kerney, 67, of South Fulton died Friday, February 5, 2016, at his residence. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Jacksonville Freewill Baptist Church with Bishop Perry Kerney officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.He was born in Fulton, Kentucky on November 2, 1948, to the late Will Allen and Eva Laverne (Alexander) Kerney. Huckabuck was married to Barbara Dickerson Kerney on July 14, 1990.On April 1, 2011, Huckabuck was able to fulfill his dream to move back home. He retired from Nestle` Purina after thirty-eight years service. He was known as a hardworker always busy working on projects around his home and in his yard. Huckabuck enjoyed playing cards with his friends and taking long rides with his dog.He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Barbara Kerney of South Fulton, Tennessee; his children, Audra Bransford of Jacksonville, Florida, Teresa Patton of Memphis, Tennessee, Harold (Lisa) Kerney of Martin, Tennessee, Heather (Robert) Parker of Clinton, Iowa, Derek (Daniela) Dickerson of Indio, California and Eric (Deanna) Dickerson Bettendorf, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his three brothers, Willie James (Jean) Kerney of Chillicothe, Ohio, Joseph (Kathy) Kerney Riverdale, Illinois, and Perry (Rose) Kerney of Orlando, Florida; three sisters, Patsy Gordon of Triangle, Virginia, Brenda Sue Kerney of Fulton, Kentucky and Frances Kerney of Union City, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur Kerney, Alonzo Kerney and Theodore Kerney and a sister, Lennell Kerney.
