Mr. Harry Thomas Cross,Sr., 65, of Union City died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Exchange Street Church of Christ with Graham McGill officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the church.
He was born April 22, 1947, in Union City, the grandson of the late T.C. and Cressie Cross and the son of the late Earnest Harris and son and step son of Jannie and Charles Turner.
He was married to Faye Wright Cross who survives.
He attended Miles High School where he was a member of the school’s band as a saxophone player and was a member of the Miles High Tiger’s basketball team. He graduated from Miles High School in 1965 and entered Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts the same year. He earned an Associates Degree in Electronics from Newborn Technical School in 1972 and this training allowed him to own and operate Cross TV Repair business. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police officer and was honorably discharged in 1970.
He is also survived by his two sons and daughter in-laws; Harry and Dana Cross of Honolulu, HI and Andrew and LaToshia Cross of Houston, TX, four grandchildren; Dekeidre Cross of Louisville, KY, Alexis Cross of San Diego, CA, Aniah Cross of Houston, TX, Denise Cross of Honolulu, HI, four sisters; Charlene Byrd of Ann Arbor, MI, Janice McGee of Ann Arbor, MI, Genice Parchman of Union City, TN and Margaret McKinney of Jonesboro, AR, one brother; Charles Turner of Union City, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Turner.
