Hattie Frances Tharpe

Mrs. Hattie Frances Tharpe, 88, of Paris died Monday, May 2, 2011, at her residence. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Progressive Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born December 12, 1922, in Springville, the daughter of the late Sula and Wrather Williams Sr. She was married on September 5, 1947, to Noble Jack Tharpe, who died September 7, 2001. She leaves two daughters: Sandra (Paul) Howard and Linda (Mark) Porter, both of Paris; one son: Noble Lee Tharpe of Paris; two sisters: Martha Williams and Bobbie Haynes, both of Paris; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Thelma Dawson, Sue Nell Williams and Lizzie Mae Reddick; and two brothers: Wrather Williams Jr. and Homer Ray Williams.
