Mr. Homer Sanders, Jr., 68, of Paris died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Henry County Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Quinn Chapel AME Church with Minister Tim Davis. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.He was born October 24, 1945, in Paris, he was a son of Homer Sanders Sr. and Minnie Mae Stokes Edwards. His stepmother, Zora Sanders, survives.
His wife, Peggy M. Porter Sanders, survives. They were married Feb. 23, 1971.
Sanders worked at Celotex for 17 years.
He also leaves three children: Ikie (Louis) Long, Torey (Vicky) Sanders and Tarrell (Shantrice) Sanders, all of Paris; Five sisters: Alice Davis, Elaine Sanders, Laurice (Aaron) Harris, Traccie (James) Williams and Angie Sanders; five brothers: James Taylor, Mitchell (Vickie) Taylor, Terry (Angela) Taylor, Gary (Sheila) Sanders and Eddie (Annette) Sanders; his mother-in-law: Anna Mae Van Dyke; Five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Faye Johnson.
