Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow.Ima Maddox Osborne was born on November 28, 1926, in Fulton, Kentucky, to the late Johnny H. Maddox and Essie Stricklin Maddox. She and her twin brother, Simon, were the third and fourth children of six siblings. She attended elementary school in the Brooks Chapel (Fulton County) School District and graduated high school in the Woodland Mills (Tennessee) School District. She married the love of her life, William H. Osborne on December 8, 1946, in Corinth, Mississippi. To this union, no children were born. However, she has been a mother-figure to many others throughout her life. At an early age, she became a member of Brooks Chapel Baptist Church in Fulton, Kentucky. Later in life, she and her husband became longtime, active members of Highway 45 Church of Christ in South Fulton, Tennessee. Ima was employed for many years with Henry I. Siegel (HIS) Company (the former manufacture of “Chic” jeans) as a seamstress where she remained until her retirement. Following the passing of her husband, William, in 1997, she relocated to Jackson, Tennessee, to live with her sister, Ruth Maddox. The two of them were inseparable and enjoyed their lives together until Ruth’s passing in 2007. After moving to Jackson, she became a much-loved member of Campbell Street Church of Christ. The members of Campbell Street immediately became her extended family and were an inspiration to her life. Ima loved life and would always say or do something that made you laugh. In her pass time, she loved working puzzles, playing Spider Solitaire on her computer and watching her favorite television shows. She became infatuated with three professional personalities (although never had the opportunity to meet them) which she affectionately called her “Sweeties”: (1) Lebron James (her #1 love) of the Cleveland Cavaliers; (2) Steve Harvey (Family Feud); (3) Rickey Smiley (Comedian), and too many others to name. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, William H. Osborne; four sisters; a twin brother; her nephew, John W. Cross; her parents, Johnny and Essie Maddox, and a loving and dedicated friend to the end, Monda Alexander. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: three greatnephews, Randall Cross of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Gary (Sabrina) Cross of Nashville, Tennessee and Cedric (Keisha) Cross of Union City, Tennessee; three great-great nieces; six great-great nephews; a devoted niece, Denice (Jacques) Napoleon of Ft. Myers, Florida; a devoted cousin, Mary Anna Thomas of Paducah, Kentucky; special friends, Jan (Glenn) Wall of Memphis, Tennessee, Julia (Larry) Strange of Jackson, Tennessee and Flewellen (Ron) Jenkins of Jackson, Tennessee, a very special and loving friend, Etta Williams, Jackson Meadow Assisted Living; and a host of cousins, friends and extended family.
