Jackson Preston Siples, Sr.

Mr. Jackson Preston Siples, 79, of Union City died Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Visitation only will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2020, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel.

Jackson was born on August 30, 1941, in Port St. Joe, Florida, to the late William Sherman Siples and Manzanella Siples. He graduated from Washington High School and attended Florida A&M University. He worked at a home for troubled boys in Okeechobee, FL, the paper mill in Port St. Joe, FL, and went on to retire from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City, TN, after more than 25 years of employment.

Left to mourn him are his sister, Charlie Mae Nichols and his six children with his former wife, the late Helen F. Siples: Clinton Jerome (Michelle), Cynthia (Eric), William Sherman (Susie), Jackson P., Jr., (Berrin), Dexter (Faye), and Yolanda Siples. He also leaves two other sons, Claude Lewis and Demetrius Cross and two stepchildren, June and Gerald Barber. Also cherishing his memories are his grandchildren Latoya Siples (Drew), Shakkia Courtney, Oranetta Myers (Trinit), Sherman Siples, Jr., Samantha Siples, Jackson Siples III, Andre Castillo, Cherish Siples, Alexis Siples, Alana Siples, Clinton Siples, Jr. and Amber Siples, as well as nine great-grandchildren and a niece, Sandra Vernon, and a nephew, Chester Nichols.

Jackson was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and left a positive impact on each person who crossed his path.

Jackson was preceded in death by his mother, Manzanella, his father, William, and his long-term companion, Beverly Thomas.
