James Armstrong

Mr. James Edward Armstrong, 69, of Paris died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Henry County Medical Center. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. He was born on September 23, 1955, in Paris to the late James Tharpe and Carrie Armstrong. James graduated class of '73 from Henry County High School, later joining the United States Army, becoming a veteran. He married Mona Lisa Johnson Armstrong acquiring four children: Joann Williams, De'Wanna (Malion) Moore, and Joseph (Sara) Johnson. He is the father of Marcus McClain and Joseph Armstrong. He leaves to mourn his wife, Mona Lisa Johnson Armstrong; sisters: Evonne Ford of Clarksville,TN, Wanda Jones of Smyrna, TN, Cleo Somerville of La Porte, TX, Yvette Somerville of Paris, TN; brothers: Roger (Diane) Tharpe of Hendersonville, TN, Garland Tharpe of Paris, TN, Tracy Tharpe of Paris, TN, Christopher Tharpe of El Paso, TX, Danny (Rochelle) Somerville of Clarksville, TN; sisters-in-law: Margaret A. Tharpe, Renee Freeman, Pam House, brother-in-law Kenneth (Charlene) Johnson; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren: bonus mothers: Cardell Tharpe and Margret Somerville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
