James Copeland

Mr. James Copeland, 73, of Paris died Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

James Wallace Copeland, Sr., was born March 25, 1951, in Paris TN, to Margie Jean (Rudder) Copeland and Guy Copeland.

James attended Central High School and later graduated from Lane College. He worked for the Department of Human Services for 30 years. He was a faithful member of Allen Temple CME Church in Paris, TN, where he held the title as Sunday School Teacher. His greatest happiness was being with his loving wife and grandchildren.

He leaves behind a wife; Willie Mae (House) Copeland, one sister; Belinda (Copeland) Taylor, one sister; Belinda (Copeland) Taylor, one daughter; Aisha Zakia Copeland, grandsons; Obadiah Lawrence Copeland, Aiden Copeland, Jeremija Copeland, and great grandson; Donaven Copeland.

He is preceded in death by his son, James Copeland, Jr ., his parents, and sister, Marilyn Smith
