Mr. James "Gerald" Kinney, 59, of Union City died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Hickman. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church. James Fitzgerald Kinney was born to the late C.L. and Carrie Kinney on May 23, 1965, in Union City, TN. James F. was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Sharon A. Kinney on October 20, 2002, at that time they became one. He attended Hickman Elementary School, later graduated from Fulton County High School in 1983. He enlisted in the United States Army, and after 6 years of service he was Honorably Discharged. James F. professed a hope in Christ at an early age, and united with the Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Hickman, KY. Where he served first as Trustee then later was ordained as a Deacon. He served faithfully many years until his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mrs. Sharon A Kinney of twenty-two years; two son, Craig McManus of Louisville, KY. and Ronald D. Ward, II of Union City, TN; two stepsons: Kendrick Couch of Hickman, KY and Roshan Couch of Oklahoma; three sisters: Mae Reese Stray of Bowling Green, KY., Rose M. Kinney and Jana L. (Perry I) Turner, both of Hickman, KY; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sheila Kinney of Hickman, KY and Ms. Pearl Calcutt of Union City, TN; four granddaughters: Elexius Benford, Ca’Tya Aryneese McManus, Ca’Zhyia Alise McManus and Ca’Nyla Alae McManus; two grandsons, LynNavion Marshall and Kaden Anthony McManus; two great-grandsons & one great-granddaughter; two goddaughters, Jayla Johnson and Jamara Dowell, both of Hickman, KY.; four godsons: Deatrik Germiles Kinney of Fulton, KY, Ja’Marious Gaston and Trae'von Tucker both of Union City, TN and Deatrik Germiles Kinney, Jr. of Hickman, KY.; three aunts: Evanna (Omer) Wilkins of Rantoul, IL, Paulette Stray of Hickman, KY and Norma Lou Hunter of Clinton, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Carrie Lee Kinney; four brothers: Charles, Coney L., Gary, and Vernon Kinney; and one sister, Angela Kinney.
