Mr. James "Jamie" Lawrence Alexander, 41, of Hickman died Friday, October 1, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Fulton County High School. Interment will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the school.
God’s chosen vessel, James “Jamie” Lawrence Alexander, was born September 25,1980, to Minnie Ann Alexander and the late
James Lawrence Smith in Mayfield, Ky. Jamie was the baby of 8 children.
Jamie attended Fulton County High where he graduated with the class of 2000. He was a very talented football player. Because of his athletic abilities, he received an athletic scholarship to Murray State University where he then majored in Criminal Justice. He was a dedicated, hard working SGT at Fulton Detention Center in Hickman, KY. He will truly be missed by the staff and inmates.
If you truly knew Jamie you knew that he had a heart of gold. He knew the right words to say to make you smile. His contagious smile could light a room. He loved the lord with all his heart. He was what you would call a jack of all trades. If you name it Jamie could do it. He always expressed how much he loved his two girls.
Left to mourn his transition are his mother Minnie Ann Alexander and his two children, Jaymessykah Alexander of Hickman, KY ( Brenda Barber Smith) Jadence Alexander of Fulton, KY (Ashley Burton) and his dog Milo. Also, he leaves to cherish his memories of four brothers, Sammy Alexander and Chris Alexander of Union City, TN, Charlie Alexander ( Kimberly) of Clinton, KY, and Chris Hardy of Lake County, TN; Five sisters, Victoria Clark, Vanessa Alexander of Union City ,TN, Evon Alexander of Murray, KY, Jeanette Alexander of Hickman, KY and Vanessa Cox of Sumter, SC.
Jamie also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father James Lawrence Smith , maternal great grandparents: Katherine Alexander and Horace Alexander, paternal grandparents: James Lewis Smith and Doris Lee Smith Giles .
