James Monroe Terry, Jr.

James Monroe Terry, Jr., was born on April 20, 1960. He passed into eternity on January 5, 2026. He was the only son of James Monroe Terry, Sr., and Willie Ruth Cowan Terry, both who preceded him in death, along with his older brother, James Lee Stubblefield, Jr. and a sister Yetta Ruth Terry.

He was raised in Martin, TN and attended schools in Weakley County but graduated from Tennessee Preparatory School in Nashville, TN. He moved to Dyersburg, TN for some years, then relocated to Paducah, KY. He had a passion for music and was an excellent chess player. May his soul be at peace.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory three sisters, Julia Terry, Constance Terry, and Wanda (Johnathan) Terry-Postlewaite. He also leaves behind his wife of 23 years Wanda Wright Terry and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and lifetime friends.

A memorial service to honor James Monroe Terry, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at McCabe United Methodist Church.
