Mr. James Jocques Turner, age 18, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
A celebration of James's life will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Brooks Chapel Kingdom Harvest, followed by interment at East View Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon at the church.
James was born on August 8, 2007, in Louisville, Kentucky. Known for his radiant spirit and infectious smile, he brought joy and warmth to those around him. He was the son of his late biological mother, Tori Smith, and father, Quinte Ingram. James was lovingly raised by his adoptive parents, Charlotte and Keresa Robinson-Turner, who held him in deep affection.
He received his education at Union City High School and Martin Westview, where he was recognized for his charm, humor, and ability to foster friendships easily. A genuine sports enthusiast, James enjoyed playing basketball and football. He passionately supported the University of Kentucky in college basketball and was a dedicated fan of the University of Georgia in college football.
James is preceded in death by his mother, Tori Smith; grandfather, Robert Dela'Vega; and grandmother, Dianne Turner. They are surely welcoming him with open arms.
He is survived by a loving family that includes his grandparents, Darla Dela'Vega, Bobby Jo Smith, Cloresa James, and Dennis Lewis, Sr. James will also be deeply missed by his siblings: Aaliyah Smith, Kayden Hyde, Chris White, Kourtni Brown, Quest Morris, Jenesis Ingram, Quanesty Ingram, Imani Jeffrey, A’quani Ingram, Travelle Littleton, Adaiysha Snow, Amiya Robinson, Jakwavius Allen, and Breesha Stanley, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished him dearly.
Though his life was brief, James's world was rich with love, laughter, and shared memories. His impact on those who knew him will endure, and he will remain forever in the hearts of all who loved him.
