Mr. Jeffrey "Big Dee" Douglas Edwards, 47, of Martin died Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Martin with Rev. John Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Parham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday at the church. He was born on October 27, 1965, to Kenneth “Ken” and Doris (Owens) Edwards, Sr. in Martin, TN. He was 1985 graduate of Westview High School where he played basketball. He was employed at Hubbell Lighting, Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Titan Tire. A faithful member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church serving as a usher. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth “Ken” and Doris Edwards, Sr. of Martin, TN; two daughters, Reachel Taylor and Jasmine Howard both of Martin, TN, three brothers, Kenneth (Tracy) Edwards, Jr. of Martin, TN, Stanley (Yvette) Rutledge of Murray, KY and Fred Chandler of Martin, TN; two sisters, Tonya and Kennethia Edwards both of Dresden, TN; grandmother, Doris Owens of Martin, TN; uncles, Melvin (Linda) Owens of Martin, TN, Jeff (Jackie) Owens of Memphis, TN, Sterling Owens III of Martin, TN, Oddie B. “Coonie” (Mary) Edwards of North Carolina and Tyrone Edwards of Martin, TN; aunts, Barbara Owens, Ima Joyce Hopson, Gwen (Col. Bob) Smith, Effie Dean Gill, Patricia Ann Edwards, Carolyn Thomas, Margaret Ann (C.J.)
