Jerry Perry, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at Patriot Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Paris, Tennessee. He was 71 years old. Jerry was born on September 13, 1953, in Henry County, Tennessee, where he spent much of his life contributing to his community and nurturing relationships with family and friends.
A graduate of Central High School, Jerry dedicated over 30 years of his career to the Henry County Highway Department, where his work was characterized by diligence and a commitment to service. His colleagues held him in high regard, reflecting the strong work ethic that Jerry maintained throughout his life.
His warm, kindhearted spirit was evident in every interaction. He will be remembered not only for his professional life but also for his exceptional cooking skills, which brought family and friends together for many joyous occasions.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Melissa Bennett; his sisters, Jenny Ruth Perry and Janice Perry; and his grandchildren, Cayden Travis and Jarmaral (Jaclyn) Cavette. He enjoyed deep and lasting friendships with Gary Teague, Curtis Ray, and Gary Tharpe, who stood by him as special lifelong friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Perry and Lena Ruth Mayo Perry, and his brothers, George and Paul Perry.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on September 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at McPhearson-Rawls Funeral Home in Paris, Tennessee. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Jerry Perry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and the joy he brought into the lives of others will continue to live on in their hearts.
