Mr. Jessie R. Tharpe, 87, of Paris died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Oak Manor Healthcare in McKenzie.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, graveside. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born March 11, 1924, in Paris, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Stella Edward Tharpe.
He leaves one sister: Eula Mae McClain of Nashville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He also was preceded in death by five brothers: Robert L., Frank, Joe, Dudley and Willie V. Tharpe; and one sister: Dorris Hutcherson.
